    Russia will play only a limited role in case of a US attack on Syria. I don't think it has openly threatened to retaliate in support of Syria, it will only do so by providing it some necessary arsenal. On the other hand, the attack could trigger an involvement of the neighboring Muslim countries in the clash too including Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Libya etc. Because it will be taken in a sectarian background dividing the muslims into 2.
